| Ebay Turbo Timer |

 |
So, I got this turbo timer off of Ebay. They sell an assload of these all the time. It's the one that has the same picture in the listing as the one you see to the right. Anyways, whatever they claim about needing a harness to hook it up, they're wrong. Just splice the motherfucker in. It has three large wires and two smaller wires to hook up. You're going to cut the three big wires off of the harness and strip them back about an inch. Then, you need to look behind the steering wheel and find the bunch of wires back there. You will see a bunch of thin gauge wires and a bunch of thick ones. We are dealing with the thick ones. You can see the right wires in this picture. The right ones have the duct tape (uhhuh) wrapped around the splices.

Before splicing any wires, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Now, splice the RED turbo timer wire to the RED and WHITE ignition wire, the BLUE turbo timer wire to the ORANGE ignition wire, and the YELLOW turbo timer wire to the PINK ignition wire. The brown wire should be spliced to the emergency brake switch wire, but I didn't do that. I grounded both the black and brown wires to the grounding point in the kick panel of the driver's footwell that I used in the Autometer A/F Gauge installation in the 98 SL2. It worked well the first time, and I was pooptastically happy, as always. I've only used the "Manual Mode" so far, and despite what the instructions say, count one unit (as in, "1.00" on the gauge) as one minute, not ten seconds. Fucking crazy ass Japanese timekeeping. Anyway, I mounted the turbo timer as seen to the right, below and to the right of the steering wheel...again with super glue. So what. Go get 'em, bitches.
