| HKS Super AFR |

So, I got the white 94 SL2 a couple weeks ago and have been driving it around (no registration, no insurance...SMARTNESS!) a bit just to feel it out. The first thing I installed in order to ready the car for the turbo was the HKS Super AFR fuel controller. This thing is another piggyback, much like the Apexi S-AFC used in the 98 SL2. It modifies the MAP sensor output to the PCM in order to change fuel trim. We shall see how well it is able to control the A/F ratio when the car is boosted running the stock 1 bar MAP sensor and 33# GM Quad 4 injectors. If it doesn't work well, I'll try swapping to a 2 bar MAP in a while. Anyhoo, the install is almost identical to that of the S-AFC in the purple car. However, the wires on the AFR are different for this job, obviously, and the PCM is an OBD1, so the PCM wires are different, too. I made up a table for the locations of the PCM wires similar to the one I made to help with the install of the S-AFC. The table can be found here. Refer the the S-AFC page if you need more detailed installation instructions, such as how to splice wires, where to find the PCM, etc. Anyways, as you can see, here is the installed HKS Super AFR, mounted next to the steering wheel with super glue (yes, I said fucking super glue...so fuck you). As far as tuning it goes, you can find the directions on the HKS site here. It will lead you through the setup and tuning procedures for the AFR. Good luck, bitches.
