Boost Gauge
Oh, the ubiquitous boost gauge. A sign of boosted status so powerful that poser ass pieces of shit go so far as to put them in cars which will never in their pitiful lives ever see better than one atmosphere of manifold pressure. It's sad, really. Anyways, despite these lovely cockeaters, a boost gauge is, indeed, a necessary tuning tool. It is, in essence, a air pressure gauge that takes an input from the vacuum system of the car and displays the pressure, whether negative (vacuum pressure) or positive (boost). Anyway, the idea is to find a nice place into which the T fitting for the gauge can be integrated. I chose the fuel pressure regulator (FPR) because, basically, I didn't have any other lines that were small enough to tap into using the T fitting supplied with the gauge, and I didn't feel like going to the fucking parts store. I also had no tools, so it was an interesting activity. Anyways, as shown to the right, locate the FPR on the driver's side end of the fuel rail. Pull the rubber vacuum fitting off of the end.


Next step is to take the clear hose that came with the gauge and shove that onto the perpendicular port on the T fitting. It's a bitch, yeah. Just do it. When that's done, shove the fitting from the FPR onto one of the parallel ports, and find another fitting of the same size (I stole my other one from the input to the EGR...fuck that thing anyway) for the other end of the T. When you're done, it should look like what you see to the right. Plug the other end of the FPR fitting back onto the FPR, and stick the stiff plastic tube that was originally shoved into the other end of the FPR fitting into the fitting on the other end of the T.


Now, as you've seen time and time again, run the clear tubing through the grommet in the firewall and into the cabin. Then, just simply plug it onto the back of the boost gauge and you're all set to go. Now, don't be a lame bitch and be stuck here on the gauge. Peg it out, you pussies. Boost it until you need a new one to read your 30+ pounds of destructionation.
